A number of Tory MPs have submitted their letters of no confidence in the Prime Minister, according to the Westminster lobby.
54 letters (15% of sitting MPs) are required to trigger a leadership challenge.
This morning, Downing Street downplayed these rumours but did not fully deny the existence of the letters.
One MP said, “I think there’s a growing feeling Boris needs to re-stamp his authority on Downing Street and do politics better.”
For now, the only certainty in this story is that the Prime Minister’s performance has not been on point in recent weeks. The rest remains a speculation.
