In a surprising move, Liz Truss has announced that trans lobbies who try to persuade children into changing gender will be sanctioned by law.
The policy comes as a lot of people who have previously been pushed to become transgender have changed their mind, blaming it on the trans activists taking advantage of children who are either ‘tomboys’ or were simply embracing gay femininity.
This could also make organisations such as Mermaids who offer counselling to under 18s illegal.
Stephanie Davies-Arai, director of Transgender Trend, spoke out against this by saying that “this may have a chilling effect on therapists working with children with gender dysphoria unless there are clear, specific protections built into the bill.”
It is important to note that there will be exemptions including medical professionals and informal family advice.
