Undisclosed private firms have received patients’ facial data collected by the NHS app.
This agreement has been signed between the NHS and the French firm, Performance, which then transfers the data to its own subcontractors.
The move has been criticised as the NHS refuses to provide the list of the contractors.
16 million English citizens have so far entered their private information into the NHS app, without being asked to give consent on this specific usage of their data.
