President Biden continues to let down his western allies as he tells Boris Johnson that America does not see a trade relationship with Britain as a priority.
The UK representatives have approached the US counterparts to convince Whitehouse to begin negotiations on a comprehensive relationship, yet the Biden administration have indicated that they have no interest in free trade with close allies.
Speaking to British reporters, the Prime Minister said that, “on the FTA, the reality is that Joe has a lot of fish to fry. He’s got a huge infrastructure package, he’s got a build back better package. We want to do it, but what we want is a good FTA, a great FTA.”
This comes as the US aims to get closer to the Chinese communist party in Beijing to continue their cooperation on trade and diplomacy. Analysts suggest that a weaker relationship between NATO allies, especially Britain and America, is a gift to China who are fast becoming the next superpower.
