Downing Street’s communication chief Jack Doyle has told Westminster journalists to avoid writing stories that involve Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie, according to PoliticsForAll.
Jack Doyle was put in charge of media and communication at the heart of the government earlier this year, despite criticism from certain wings of the government.
He was recently accused by Dominic Cummings of leaking negative stories and making false accusations to the press.
The main concern is not whether Cummings was right or not. The current unaddressed issue is regarding press freedom. Journalists must be able to write about any story, as long as they do not break the law.
We must continue to fight for freedom of press and accountability.
