Lord Frost Threatens To CANCEL Brexit Deal’s NI Protocol

Brexit Minister Lord Frost has issued a new warning to the European Union in an attempt to resolve the Northern Ireland Protocol aspect of the Brexit deal.

Since the end of the Brexit transition period, one of the main battles between Downing Street and the European Commission has been around Great Britain’s trade arrangements with Northern Ireland.

Following the recent talks, which saw no solution, David Frost has decided to step up his game and issue a direct threat. The British government now believe that they could suspend the Northern Ireland Protocol which has made trade difficult inside the United Kingdom.

Speaking to the House of Lords, Frost said: “I urge the EU to take this seriously. They would be making a significant mistake if they thought that we were not ready to use article 16 safeguards, if that is our only choice to deal with the situation in front of us. If we are to avoid article 16, there must be a real negotiation between us and the EU.”
