AOC’s ‘Tax The Rich’ Stunt Is Against The Poor

The far-left congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended last night’s Met Gala in a bizzare ‘Tax The Rich’ dress.

Met Gala is an annual event, which raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York.

AOC received backlash for her socialist publicity stunt as it exposed her usual hypocrisy. This is partly due to the fact that the event charges $30,000 for a ticket and $275,000 for a table. AOC’s dress was also cost $1,000+ to design.

The second backlash was mainly targeted at her lack of understanding of basic economics. America’s top 1% currently pay 40% of taxes. Which means they are already paying taxes – not ignoring those who do try to avoid paying the full tax, something that needs to be addressed.

Over-taxing the rich also means fewer jobs for the working class, less investment for the economy, and less encouragement for people to get out of poverty.

AOC’s philosophy is to keep the poor at the bottom of society while bringing down the rich to make everyone equally dependant on the big government.
