Nicola Sturgeon will announce later whether Glasgow is to remain under level three coronavirus restrictions – or go along with much of Scotland with the lockdown gradually being relaxed.
The First Minister is expected to deliver a Covid briefing today where she will detail the plans for Scotland’s largest city, which has been subjected to more stringent rules aimed at curbing the virus.
Ms. Sturgeon says there are “reasons to be optimistic” for Glasgow, but business owners and hospitality operators have said they need absolute clarity about when they can fully reopen.
Yesterday, she told MSPs that she wants to get the city “back on track as quickly as possible, but that’s got to be done responsibly and safely”.
Nicola Sturgeon said she would continue to make “careful, cautious decisions” regarding the best possible route to normality.
